Yutori Finnish Lapphunds began in 2006 (after 17 years in Akitas) with: 'Haalia' from Sugarok (female-now spayed due to Hip Dysplasia and in a companion home); UKC Grand Ch. Sugarok Tenacious CGC, HIC, 'Tina' (female); UKC Grand Ch. Orso-Farm Naappero CGC,HIC, 'Dancer' (male) co-owned with Linda Marden of Sugarok, UKC Ch. Sugarok Mocha Latte at Yutori 'Latte'(spayed and living in a companion home), UKC Gr.Ch. Sugarok Out N' About Yutori, HIC, 'Sony', and CKC Ch./UKC Ch. Peikkovuoren Niiskuneiti HIC, 'Niisku', our direct import from Peikovuoren Kennels in Finland. We are extremely happy to have Niisku here--Thank YOU Taina and Ari!!!! She is a 3-way co-ownership between Cathy Pollack and Lynn Drumm of Yutori, and Gloria Beaudin of Shadagrace in Canada.

Our most recent import, born in November 2009, is from Kennel Lapinlumon of Denmark: AKC Ch./UKC Ch. Lapinlumon Nuoskalumi 'Lumi'. He is a cream male, sired by Lapinlumon Elamanilo (son of Lecibsin Macce) and out of Lapinlumon Kiiski. He is now 2 years old, starting to fill out and impress us with his lovely structure and breed type; we are very pleased with him. Thank you to breeder Sarah Brandes for this beautiful boy.

Our First Yutori Generations and what they accomplished:

Then we have our first generation of Yutori-bred dogs, born in 2007, sired by UKC Gr. Ch. Sugarok Teddy Bear, CGC, TDI, HIC out of UKC Gr. Ch. Sugarok Tenacious CGC, HIC. They include UKC Gr. Ch. Yutori's Autumn Equinox CGC, HIC 'Quinn'; UKC Gr. Ch. Yutori's Howlin' at Autumn Moon CGC, HIC, 'Finn'; AKC Gr Ch/ UKC Gr. Ch. Yutori's Shades of Autumn, HIC 'Leif' and Ch. Yutori's Autumn Inspiration, HIC, 'Shine', (spayed and in a companion home). Completing that litter are UKC Ch. Yutori's Apple of My Eye CGC, HIC, NA, NAJ, 'Chip' owned by Nick and Mary,of WI and UKC Ch. Yutori's Fall Wish CGC, HIC 'Storin' owned by Tom and Kim, also of WI. We are fortunate that all of this litter will be staying in the Great-Lakes region.

Our May 2009 pups were sired by UKC Gr. Ch. Orso-Farm Naappero, HIC, CGC 'Dancer' out of UKC Gr. Ch. Sugarok Out N'About Yutori, HIC 'Sony': they include UKC Ch. Yutori's River Dance at KeJe, HIC 'Dublin' (on his way to his UKC Gr. Ch) co-owned and at nearly 4 years old, he is as beautiful as he always promised to be. He is the epitome of 'profuse coat' which our standard calls for. His sister, Yutori's Star Dancer 'Seija' is living with Mark and Jennifer of CA. And then there are our August 2009 pups, also sired by Dancer, out of CKC Ch./UKC Ch Peikkovuoren Niiskuneiti, HIC 'Niisku'. Those pups include CKC Ch. Yutori's Suomi FoxFire, 'Ukko' living in Canada, AKC Ch./UKC Ch.Yutori's Suomi Revontuli 'Liika', Yutori Kalbarri Suomiborealis 'Keetu' living with Ann and Mike in CO, and Yutori's Suomi Northern Lights 'Elli' owned by Nicole and Mike of OH.

In April 2010, Sony produced 3 pups sired by UKC Gr. Ch. Yutori's Howlin' at Autumn Moon,CGC, HIC 'Finn'. These pups include UKC Ch. Yutori's Fly Me to the Moon, 'GeeP' co-owned with Nancy in MD, Yutori's Stars over the Moon, 'Suvi' owned by Rachel and Dan of IL, and Yutori's Light of the Moon 'Sisu' owned by Lynn and James of WI. Additionally, at the end of April, our 'Quinn' UKC Gr. Ch. Autumn Equinox, CGC, HIC gave birth to a singleton pup, sired by Finnish import Fidelis Verissimus, owned by Ann and Mike of Kalbarri. The puppy was a surprise color---brown. Her name is AKC Ch./UKC Ch, Yutori's Chocolate by Chance, 'Suffeli'. Her call name is that of a popular Finnish chocolate bar (thanks to Katie Pietilainen for her assistance in name selection).

Four of the puppies in our first litter (2007) were AKC CGC titled just after turning 6 months of age; 1 is a multiple adult BIS winner, 1 was a BIS puppy winner, another earned a Reserve BIS adult win in her first weekend out, and all 6 earned UKC show Championships before 1 year of age. Four of them (Quinn, Leif, Finn and Chip have earned their Grand Champion titles). All 6 of our puppies have also earned their HIC herding certificates (HIC) before their first birthdays as well. This litter was the first UKC all champion multiple puppy Finnish Lapphund litter (6 puppies), making Tina (the dam), and Teddy (the sire), the first two Finnish Lapphunds to produce an all champion multi-titled litter in North America.

Our Foundation dogs, BIS GrCh Sugarok Dif'rent Drummr Yutori 'Haalia', UKC GrCh Sugarok Tenacious, CGC, HIC, 'Tina' and UKC GrChOrso-Farm Naappero, CGC, HIC, 'Dancer' from Finland (co-owned with Linda Marden) finished their UKC Championships in 2006 and earned their GrCh titles that same year. Soon after, UKC Ch. Sugarok Mocha Latte 'Latte' and UKC GrCh Sugarok Out N' About Yutori, HIC 'Sony' joined us and quickly earned their Champion and Gr. Ch titles.

From the roots of Tina, Dancer and Sony's pedigrees, we have started our Yutori lines, beginning with Tina's first litter for Yutori, born November 2007 (out of UKC GrCh. Sugarok Teddy Bear, CGC, HIC, TT, NA ). At the same time, Niisku (CKC/UKC Ch Peikkovuoren Niiskuneiti, HIC), joined our family from Finland and in August 2009 she had her first litter (out of Dancer) and added Liika to our foundation lines. In 2010, Quinn, UKC GrCh Yutori's Autumn Equinox, CGC, HIC from our first litter (Teddy x Tina) produced Suffeli (Yutori's Chocolate by Chance) for us (out of Fidelis Verissimus 'Verti'). That year we added Danish import UKC Ch. Lapinlumon Nuoskalumi,'Lumi' a handsome cream male from Sarah Brandes of Denmark, and have plans for our next generation with him. So far, 2011 has brought us Sony's last litter; born one of our first generation boys, UKC GrCh Yutori's Apple of My Eye, CGC, HIC, NA, NAJ, 'Chip' so that Bling (Yutori's Eye Candy) and Petey (Yutori's Black Eyed Pea) could join our crew. Additionally, Quinn (bred to Dancer), has brought Yutori's Winter Solistice 'Celie' into the fold.

1. UKC Gr. Ch. Yutori's Autumn Equinox, CGC, HIC 'Quinn' (ranked #4 UKC Top Ten in 2008 and currently #1 UKC Top Ten FL for 2009 as of May 23rd, 2009). Quinn now has 10 AKC points in 3 AKC majors.

2. Multiple BIS, and BISS UKC Gr.Ch. Yutori's Shades of Autumn, HIC 'Leif', (ranked #9 UKC Top Ten in 2008 with limited showing only from September '08 to year end and currently #2 UKC Top Ten FL for 2009 as of May 23rd, 2009).

Leif is an AKC Grand Champion and will be competing in Westminster as a pre-invitee.

3. UKC Gr. Ch. Yutori's Howling at Autumn Moon, CGC, HIC 'Finn'. He has 13 AKC points in 4 Majors.

4. UKC Ch. Yutori's Fall Wish, CGC, HIC 'Storin' ranked at a tie for #9 UKC Top Ten in 2008

Other dogs at Yutori earning their UKC Championships or Grand Championships in 2008 include:

1. UKC Ch. Peikkovuoren Niiskuneiti, HIC 'Niisku' and earned HIC in 2008. She is now a CKC Champion and also has 8 AKC points and both AKC majors.

2. UKC Gr. Ch. Sugarok Out N'About Yutori, HIC earned her Grand Ch.and was ranked #7 for UKC Top Ten 2008. She was not been shown in 2009 due to breeding and having puppies to raise.

1. UKC. Gr. Ch. Sugarok Tenacious, 'Tina' earned CGC and HIC. She has 5 AKC points and 1 major.

1. UKC Gr. Ch. Yutori's Howlin' at Autumn Moon, CGC, HIC 'Finn' earned his Grand Championship in May 2009.

1. UKC Ch. Yutori's River Dance at Keje, HIC, 'Dublin' (co-owned) earned his Ch.

2. UKC Ch. Yutori's Suomi Revontuli 'Liika' earned her Championship June 2010.

4. UKC Gr Ch. Yutori's Apple of My Eye, 'Chip' new titles, CL1-H, CL1-F, CL1-R, NA, NAJ, and NJWW. 'Chip' competes in AKC, USDAA, CPE, and UKI Agility venues.

5. UKC/CKC Ch. Peikkovuoren Niiskuneiti, 'Niisku'.HIC, earned her Canadian Championship (CKC) in August 2010.

6. CKC Ch. Yutori's SuomiFoxFire O'Bearspaw 'Ukko' earned his Canadian Championship from the puppy class. As of Sept 2010, he is #2 ranked Finnish Lapphund in Canada.

We also entered the AKC Miscellaneous Class show rings (as well as continuing in UKC), in July 2009. Now, we are officially fully recognized by AKC and participate in the Herding Group.
